What should I wear?

Socks are required for hygiene purposes. You should also wear clothes that are easy to move in. Long pants are preferable to shorts.

How often should I do Pilates?

Pilates, ideally, should be done 2-3 times a week. Some people do Pilates everyday. However, once a week is still better than nothing. Keep in mind, Pilates doesn’t always have to be done in a studio. You can come in once a week for a session and do mat work at home on alternating days. Find what works best for you so you stick with it. Consistency is the most essential component in reaping the rewards that Pilates offers.

Will it help me lose weight?

I can’t tell you how often I am asked this question. Pilates will make you feel better before it starts to make you look better. Pilates will help you tone up and lose inches. It will also help improve you posture, which has a slimming effect. If you are serious about losing weight you should combine Pilates with a better diet and cardio.

I have an injury or illness, should I consult with a physician?

Yes, you should consult with a physician before starting any new exercise routine.
